Lodging at Its Best,
Overlooking Yellowstone National Park on the Banks of the Yellowstone
River.
Fishing
is the World's most popular sport and for no other reason many people come
to Yellowstone just to try their luck in the World's greatest trout fishery.
Trout to 10 pounds or better, such as the Rainbow swimming below, can be
caught. Your fishing experience may take you no further than Yellowstone's
Absaroka Lodge which sits on the banks of the beautiful Yellowstone River
as it leaves the Park.
Yellowstone
is the only place in the world where you can catch a Rainbow, Brown, Brook
and native Black-Spotted Cutthroat trout on the same river in a classic
pristine setting. The Park has declared war on Lake Trout, which have invaded
Yellowstone Lake. Fishermen are asked to keep all Lake Trout, regardless
of size or the number in their possession, in both Yellowstone and Heart
Lakes. Below is one of your many fishing partners that may be found in
your adventures.
A Bull Elk in the Gardiner River, which enters the Yellowstone
River a few blocks from the Absaroka Lodge.
Due
to the countless thermal inputs, aquatic insects hatch year around in Yellowstone's
rivers. One such place is the confluence of the Gardner River into the
Yellowstone River just a few blocks upstream from the Absaroka Lodge. Like
most of the Yellowstone River, this section of the river can be fished
at any time of the year with a Montana fishing
license.
